That wall-mounted iPad isn’t going to power itself, you know. FSR wants to provide a little juice with its new IT-CHRG-P2U PoE to USB charger.
The new power option is designed to work with the company’s WE-IPAD2-SLV iPad enclosure. Promising a simple, reliable power solution, the device can get power from a standard PoE network connection. When used with the FSR iPad enclosure, it boasts an easy, single-cable install.
According to FSR, the PoE charger sits at the rear of the iPad enclosure, which has a symmetrical hole pattern. That makes it easy to mount to a standard 2-gang box. No electrical drop is needed.
“We are excited to introduce both the iPad enclosure and PoE USB Charger,” says Jan Sandri, president of FSR. “With more and more display options being designed around Apple’s iPad, we are proud to be able to offer our customers these attractive and powerful options. These new cube and wall plate styles, which are debuting at this year’s InfoComm, derive ample power from a standard PoE network connection and do not require PoE+. They can easily be used as an accessory for any iPad version.”
Another nice perk is that the PoE/USB charger will also notify the iPad that it is connected to a charger, to avoid any annoying pop-ups. The company also says that the charging side is rated at 5VDC, 2 amps/10watts.
