Extron is ready to stretch those signals. The company recently announced the DTP HDMI 230 twisted pair extender, which can transmit HDMI, audio, and bidirectional RS-232 and IR control signals up to 230 feet over a single Cat-5 cable.
The DTP HDMI 230 is HDCP-compliant and boasts an economical way to extend both HDMI and multi-channel audio from HDMI-equipped devices.
Of course, the DTP HDMI 230 doesn’t discriminate when it comes to other audio formats, accepting analog stereo audio signals and digitizing them for simultaneous transmission over the same single twisted pair cable.
“The DTP HDMI 230 provides our customers with an economical solution for reliable, long distance transmission of HDMI video, audio, and bidirectional control signals over a single twisted pair cable,” says Casey Hall, Extron’s VP of sales and marketing. “This extender enables AV system designers and integrators to take advantage of the benefits of twisted pair while ensuring optimal signal quality.”
Perfect for space-challenged environments, the compact DTP HDMI 230 is compatible with Cat 5, Cat 6, and Cat 7 twisted pair cable. It also works with signal resolutions up to 1080p/60 or 1920x120, as well as data rates up to 6.75 Gbps, Deep Color up to 12-bit, 3D, HD lossless audio formats, and CEC.
