Essential lighting design apps for on the job reference.

Sometime it is difficult to get ideas up and running exactly how you had imagined them. When installing a lighting system, or brainstorming a new lighting upgrade, it is important that you have all of the resources you need to make the best decision possible. However, it is not always possible to have the references that you need to make the decisions you need to when you are on the go.

Thankfully, there are a handful of mobile apps out there that will not only help you figure out what your next lighting set-up will look like, but how you can do it and what equipment can help get the job done.

Some lighting design reference apps showcase a variety of different innovative lighting set-ups to help make final decisions on exactly how a specific lighting design should look. Others provide glossaries and commonly asked FAQ’s with answers for on the go insight.

Not all lighting design apps are study materials though. Some apps are developed to be used as manufacturer product catalogs, and others can be used for live lighting reference—like gel swatches.

Having a decent collection of lighting reference apps is a good idea if you are a lighting professional on the go or do not want to carry around other resources. Not every app is for everyone, but here is a collection of lighting design apps that are valuable for pretty much any step of the lighting installation process. TD End Icon Final 14 px
